Tanka Bahadur Tamang (55) of Mulkharka in Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-5, Okhaldhunga, was killed while working for a month on a local road building project, according to police.
Tanka Bahadur, who lived with his nephew Indra Tamang and another worker, was discovered dead in his bed this morning with significant wounds in his head and eyes, according to police.
He was discovered by a third roommate who had departed the apartment after the uncle and nephew began arguing on Saturday night after becoming intoxicated. He didn’t return till the next morning.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Raj Kumar KC, Kaski District Police Office Spokesperson, police think Tamang was attacked with a sharp weapon after a preliminary assessment of the scene.
His nephew Indra Tamang, who has been missing since the event, is accused of murdering his uncle while in a drunken stupor. According to police, the corpse was sent to Western Regional Hospital for a postmortem.
Meanwhile, according to DSP KC, additional investigation into the matter is ongoing, and the hunt for the fleeing suspect is ongoing.
